Words from Mr. Ijima, President and CEO from Mitsui & Co after his visit to the Atotonilco WWTP:
“I visited the world’s largest Waste Water plant, Atotonilco WWTP, a project in which Mitsui & Co participated. Many of you already know about this visit, as per Japanese media coverage. I was surprised by the size of the facilities. They go beyond my imagination. It is about 60% of the sewage water from Mexico City homes and generates about 70% of its own electric power requirements by using gas recovered from the wastewater. This visit renewed my awareness on the importance of this project for industrial development and the solution of environmental problems in Mexico. I also attended the “Mesa Franca” meeting with employees from Mitsui de México and was able to realize the enthusiasm and energy of our team in Mexico”.
